Due to the way the flashes are spaced, this seems to be a string of numbers... But I don't know what...not yet, anyway

EDIT:

On further inspection, it appears even more interesting....

Too bad I'm not in the UK...

It's from the UK game that finished up a while ago. According to Steven, the US game starts April 16th.

If you're interested in figuring out this one in the meantime, though, you just might be on the right track with numbers.

Well, I'm pretty sure I've figured out exactly what's going on (it's a uk cell number, useless to someone like me in the states) I realize that it was from the old game, but i only found it because on Hall's myspace he posted a link to some video on youtube. The user entry was blank, but the one user who subscribed to this had a link to the lightbulb video. I also found it another way, as Hall made a post on the HoL forums directing to lostenvelope.com (you can find your way from there, not too hard at all)

Hope the US game will be fun.

quite possibly a nice find....

it's taking me some time to decode due to speed and variation in the length of individual dots and dashes....but i'll get it soon enough

I still don't believe that one is an encoded message.

I'm sure most of you have already gone through these. but what is the orpheus code about, is that part of the UK or US game or just a promotional clip?

the code was on the computer at the toronto event as well. not sure if it is part of the game, but it is hard to read it from the youtube video.

I posted this on the HoL forums, but it works here too:

I've had a slow afternoon, so I'll post the light bulb fragment code in case anyone wants it. I tried translating it manually. Hell, I even turned it into a sound file (I made a sound file that played a tone for the exact duration of each flash) and used a computerized morse decoder. Little consistency, and if it uses the QWERTY encryption you're basically screwed.

Here's the code (I think it's right, but I could be wrong). Numbers show the length of each flash (number of frames of the video) and numbers in brackets are the length of each space between flashes.

Each frame is 1/30th of a second. (Sorry it's damn near impossible to read)

hey. im new to the whole UEC. I just finished reading TRST in three days, I got it tuesday. I did some poking around on the forum, and read about the US game, poked around lost envelope and found Randle's flikr and the purple shark video. I dont know if someone has already finished the US game but i really love the book and am gonna start translating tonight. does anyone know if it is using the same encryption from the book?

Yeah I think I'm screwed anyway, "Purple Shark" was cake but this makes my brain hurt.

I can't BELIEVE I missed the UK game! Not that it would have made much difference as I hadnt read the book then, but still. What was the outcome does anyone know? Or was it an individual progress thing? Can it still be played?
